Another C64 track this week (and for the forseeable future) This time it’s Martin Galway’s theme from Comic Bakery.
Music Monday – Crazy Comets
I think it’s time for more C64 tunes on Music Monday so what better than Rob Hubbard’s Crazy Comets to kick us off.
Music Monday – Crispy – Licky Licky
This is a track I’ve only recently discovered thanks to ObscureInternet. It’s 90′s eurocheesetastic. The Album isn’t bad either.
April’s Boro Tweet Up
The april BoroTweetup, was another great night out. A good time was had by all.
I brought Cup cakes, kindly made by my niece

Yaffa brought this amazing cake (Recipe here).

There was chatting.

That’s @simonscarfe @alsandair and @williamtheblood pictured. In attendance but not pictured @cat_elliott @AnnieDd1, @yaffa and myself.
There was even some live music

Here’s an invite to May’s Tweetup, don’t miss out
BoroTweetup and Burlesque
Tomorrow night is the second #Borotweetup. I’ll be there again and it looks like a few more people will be popping along too.
And maybe after that, we could possible pop along to see The @HeadlineHoneys April Burlesque Show at @unclealberts. Here’s a little preview of what it will be like.
Project Zomboid
I’ve written a post over at Obsolete Gamer about Project Zomboid an interesting independent game that is currently in development. Please, feel free to pop over and have a look.
The First Boro Tweet Up
I am a big fan of social media website and application Twitter and I’ve been using it for almost four years. However in all that time there has never been a tweetup (a meet up between local twitter users) in Middlesbrough (or anywhere on Teesside as far as I’m aware). There has been attempts to arrange them previously but these have all been cancelled or moved to other areas due to lack of publicly or lack of attendees.
This all changed on March 4th 2011 when the #Borotweetup took place at Blu which I attended along with @yaffa (as her alter ego @lovembro), who arrange the event, @williamtheblood, @richard_glover, @davidjinks (also known as @fffridge) and a special guest appearance from @borofutsal who dropped by to kindly hand out some free tickets.
Sadly a number of people who wanted to come had to drop out of the event at the last-minute, but we still had a great time and Richard, who unfortunately could not stay for the full event, even brought this rather lovely looking (and tasting) cake.

You can find the recipe for the cake on Richard’s blog.
Strangely I didn’t take any photos, so I don’t have any more images to share with you. It was probably due to my social awkwardness which I defeated with the liberal use of Vodka.
In summary it was ace, and I can’t wait for the next one.
Pancakes and Pointless exercises in self improvement
It’s lent, so again this year I crowd sourced my facebook and twitter contacts for suggestions on things to give up for lent.
- Cornflakes (Lee) – A bit of strange one this, as I don’t eat cornflakes, and obviously crunchy nut cornflakes are too nice to give up.
- Social Networking (Bill) – Ha, Never!
- Lent/Giving up - (porterdarren/Mick)
- Scat porn (Mick) - Wait, wot? This is supposed to be stuff I do now. My tastes are a little more extreme than that.
- Give up all hope of the Coalition giving us a decent Budget to promote economic growth (Andrew) – Again, this isn’t something I’ve got to to give up.
- Sucking tramps cocks (Adrian) – Oh, you!
- Ice cream (Brooke) – Ah, a sensible suggestions again.
- Sarcasm (AndyMc_) – I did try this one last year, but only lasted a few hours.
- Using cotton buds to clean out your ears. It’s wrong, but it feels so gooood! (LilvixenUK) – How else can you clean your ears if you give this up?
- After asking what I liked the most Minecraft (steelrattus)
- The colour red. No red smarties, no blackcurrant, no strawberries, no red tshirts. Or the colour grey or beige. (Lemonpillows) - A very original and creative this one, but probably a little to clever for my will power.
Ok, so from those suggestions I think this years list will be as follows;
- Ice cream
- Minecraft
The ice cream I’m not to worried about but over month without Minecraft is going to be very very difficult.
Happy Birthday ZX81
I was shocked to learn this morning that Today (5 March 2011) marks the 30th anniversary of my first ever computer the humble Sinclair ZX81.
Although it wasn’t really my computer as it was bought for my older sister, it did serve as my introduction to computing and at the age of six my introduction to basic programming. It will always hold a special place in my heart.
Here’s a recently made demo for ZX81 (with 16kb or more RAM) to show you what the ZX81 just can do.

Top Remixed C64 Artist and Tracks Infographic
Inspired by a Twitter conversation with @anna_black and @sbutterworth about which Commodore C64 music track has been remixed the most often. I have created an infographic showing which C64 artist had been remixed (on remix.kwed.org) the most in 2010. It was supposed to be one of those clever infographic thingies but when I finished it just came out as a bit of pie chart.
