That Update!
Hello all, here is the updating I've been hinting at for the past two weeks and it looks like it's going to be a long one! Please excuse the bad English it’s been a long day.
As you may know I've been on Holiday for the past two weeks, (back to work on Monday) and you also may know that I've been looking forward to this holiday for a bit, for a various reasons Including; It's two weeks away from work, It's two weeks with the wife and the boy, Mother is coming to England for a couple of weeks and bringing one me Aunts with her, and my sister should be home for a few days. We hadn't planned on going one place for the holidays but rather have a number of days out to theme parks and the like.
The only incident of first few days (excluding bumping into to Mark Conner and Family Fun Day in Pallister Park and aside from my hair growing far too long on my head and face) was the problems with the computer. The correct processor arrived on Tuesday and the computer was rebuilt. Firstly I tried to reinstall Windows XP with a repair install (despite the new hardware) this would not work, so I formatted C: and installed a new version of XP, fortunately I’d moved the 'documents and setting' folder to the D drive so it didn't cause too many software problems. However even after the computer was fully built and installed I was having problems with it Blue Screening, Network and Installer problems.
Wednesday night came and was time to go pick Ma up from the Airport, it being a nice night and us being on holiday me and the full family got into the car (mostly without jackets) and headed of to Newcastle. The trip up was the fine; it was the trip back from the Airport when the car decided to break down. Now currently the RAC (our breakdown company) are running an advert on TV at the moment where they attend to and fix a broken down car in a couple of minutes in the most condescending way possible. So it was rather annoying waiting on the side of the A1(M) in the rain near midnight waiting for the RAC to figurate out where we had broken down and then decide to send a another breakdown company to attend. The guy that attended the car was pretty good actually however he couldn't fix the car and he had to tow us all the way home. About two hours after the car broke down we finally got home, and it looked like the head gasket on the car had gone, which had also punctured the radiator (which was now leaking)
The Car and Computer Problems continued through Conor’s seventh Birthday. The computer was still Blue Screening, and I was arranging a Mechanic to come and look at the car.
So I was feeling pretty low on my thirty-first Birthday, despite birthday wishes from Sarno Cabral, Jujuba Docinha, METROPLEX !!!!, Ignacio, BritHawk, Heather, Laura, C16, merman, Dafunk, Hazel, Danceaway, Vosla, ifadeo, Dumper, Romeo Knight, moog, Kenz, LMan, trace and Waz (Many thanks all) my only present was this Galaxy Force Starscream which was bought using ebay by myself a couple of months ago. I had left it in the cupboard upstairs until the time was right.
In the second week of the Holiday we got a nice mobile Mechanic to look at the car. He is going to look at the fixing the Gasket and replace the Radiator, we sorted out a reasonable priced hire care (£107 + Petrol for five day hire of Fiesta from National) and saw some Puppies.
The bad news is the mechnical thinks there is a possiblity the car engine could have been cracked when the Gasket blew on the car, which mean the car would cost more to repair then it would be worth. The engine will be crack tested. Microsoft Crash analysis was given me and help with my computer problems, apparently it is a 'Error caused by a device driver'.
On Wednesday we took the boy to Diggerland in the Hire Car, and great fun was had by all.
We also found out the car ain't complete broken and it should be fixed in the next few days. The computer seems to responding to a course of tweaking BIOS, new Device Drivers and disabling NV Fireware. I even managed a late night drink related webcam session.
Which brings us to today. Mechanic is still fixing the car and the computer hasn’t given me a problem for the last three days. We took the hire car this afternoon, and while we where in town Conor and I took the opportunity to have our hair cuts. I’m very pleased with mine, a pretty new lass has started at the my Stylist (which is moving incidentally) and she gave me a very good cut. Conor's got his spiked up. After that we went to see the new Disney/Pixar movie Cars which was great (except the Jermey Clarkson, pointless regionalisation at it’s worst)
Erm, I've missed loads of stuff out, like how the Wife read the last update about the Iron and she ain’t happy. If I thinking of anything else I try to fit it in another update.
Update coming soon.
Problems almost over, watch this while you wait…..
Back up and running…..
I'm back again, but not without the loss of a large number of my personal and family pictures. D'oh.
Happy Valentine's Day!
Chuck Norris does not sleep
Four updates in four days? You must think it’s Christmas or perhaps it’s my new years resolution to update my blog, well it’s neither, however I will come back to my new year resolution in a moment.
I mention Christmas first. Santa’s certainly swelled the Autobot and Deception ranks for both my and Conor, Have a look at our collections now…
Conor’s Collection of Transformers

As well as my Robot Masters Optimus Prime, Robot Masters Starscream. I also got a Energon Optimus Prime Pen, Transformers DVD and Star Wars Revenge of Sith DVD as well as some other gifts. Conor’s most notable gift (he got too many to mention) was A Nintendo DS and Nintendogs, I’ll leave the details of this for now as it’s a whole update to itself.

Yes, the ok but bland Anthony won Big Brother, it is a shame as we all loved Eugene.
Again, I've been busy, this time getting the house ready. Some nice people are coming from the housing associating with a new kitchen, fireplace and they are going to fiddle with the radiators as well, so me and the wife have been moving stuff out of the into boxes and we even had a good old rummage and found lots of stuff to take to the recycling centre.
I've not been stiff at all since my return from the Gym, I'm looking forward to heading back tomorrow.
I've picked my Dream Team for the mini-league at work, of the 28 teams in there my team below screams out midi-table obscurity.
Cech , Chelsea, Goalkeeper, £5.5m
Queudrue , Middlesbrough, Defender, £3.5m
Heinze , Manchester Utd, Defender, £5.0m
Upson , Birmingham, Defender, £2.5m
A Ferdinand , West Ham, Defender, £1.5m
Danny Murphy , Charlton, Midfielder, £3.0m
T Miller , Sunderland, Midfielder, £2.5m
Carrick , Tottenham, Midfielder, £3.5m
Zamora , West Ham, Striker, £2.0m
Rooney , Manchester Utd, Striker, £5.5m
Defoe , Tottenham, Striker, £5.5m
Battlestar Gallactica season 2 continues to impress, where as Transformers Galaxy Force has annoyed me this week with the tiny but newly combined Sonic Convoy knocked out the huge Super Starscream. Pah, stupid Cybertrons (Autobots)
Did I forget to tell you about the news Transformers Cybertron theme tune? It was remixed by the Grammy nominated word famous DJ, Paul Oakenfold. Responsible for the awesome remix of U2's "Even Better Than The Real Thing" amongst other things. The only problem is… it's a bit shit, go have a listen.
Return of the Me from Holibobs
I’ve returned from Holiday, I’ve missed a host of rare world smallest transformers on ebay due to lack of Internet connection, Soundwave has joined my Worlds Smallest Transformer collection. However since I moved jobs (and desks) I’ve not removed them from my draws yet. Soundwave unlike most of my current collection which came from half way around the world, had a short trip from Sunderland
Conor has added Energon Optimus Prime, Universe Ransack and Smokescreen, Energon Threadbolt and finally the Armada Mini-cons Mirage, Dirt Boss, and Downshift who merge to form Skyboom to his collection of full sided Transformers. Thanks to his 6th birthday which was on Wednesday.
We took him to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory to celebrate, it’s a really excellent movie, one that was enjoyed by the whole family. I’ve still been watching Galaxy Force and in Episode 26, Starscream kicks fucking arse. However the America dub of Galaxy Force, Transformers Cybertron sucks donkey’s balls, the dub is ridiculously bad. But woo! Battlestar Gallactica season 2 has kicked off in the US, and it still rockers my boxers.
I’ve been eating health lately (lots of fruit, etc) and although this has provide me Motivate and full of energy.. Which I have been using, being playing football with Conor a lot lately as he has been showing an interest in playing, I try to get him playing when he was smaller but he wasn’t having any of it now he has been playing it at school I thought it would be a good opportunity for me to and him to play. Then I went on Holiday and ate of lots of fried breakfasts and home cooked dinners, people who I’ve not seen for a while where telling I’ve put on weight. I did do some exercise, I played football one night and scored quiet a cracking goal. I’ve also been Learning lots of stuff including Speed reading as took the laptop and lots of read material (e-books) with me. I’m attempting to use a more emotional language in my updates after one of the books on communication has inspired me.
So Today I'm 30 and I’m Joining the Gym. I’m 5’7 (when the hair is spiked up) and over 11 stone, and 9 stone of that is in my belly. I am determined to become all I can be, and this means getting fit, but not just that, it’s also means getting smart; getting everything I want from my Career, etc.
I ment to tell you this a few weeks back but I’d couldn’t fit it in, Simon Thomas is now an MCP after passing his VB.net exam, and I’m still stuck from were to go one from my MCP, should I move on to do the MCSA or do the ITIL foundation qualification first? Pah, one thing you need to be motivated, is clear goals to work towards! I have lots of Goals but too many to work towards, so I need to choose which of these are important.
Here’s a motivational quote for you to go on with….
“By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail.
I made this?
Sorry about that lack of updates, I have been writing, but various computer problems have eaten the words. So it’s going to be one of thos updates where I bring you upto date with whats been happening with me and those connected to me.
Conor lost his first tooth, got pupil of the week for the third time this year and the second week running. The precedent of getting him a toy for getting pupil of week has so far cost us, Four sets of Episode III Star Wars Lego, and the six Constructicon transformers which group together to form Devastator.
I’ve change role at work. This time it’s a sideways move but it more project management than people management, which is something I’ve wanted to have a go at. On the last day I with my old team, and again they made me feel I would be missed as they got me a card, cake and some munchies for the team to mark my departure.
I’ve been really concerned with the number of people who have noticed the size of my belly lately, I’ve definitely increased in size. I’m very nearly closed to joining the Gym.
One of the things I’ve missed writing about because of not updating for a while is the bombs in London. This has been most worrying for me as my sister lives and works in London. Fortunately she has been unharmed thus far. However this did remind me when the Omagh bomb went of all those years ago, my mother was in County Tyrone Ireland, which is not far from the Omagh and she could have very easily been shopping there that afternoon, and this was quite a worry because it took hours to get in touch with her to find out she was ok.
If this update seems longer and more thought out then usual it might be because most of it was typed at a laptop while listening to MP3 on my lovely K750i Mobile fun come Mp3 Player (with new 1GB memory stick thanks to Ebay) or it could be because I’m even more full of shit than usual, you decide.
I’m on Holiday from tomorrow, but I’ll be back next week with more words, promise
