Weekly Links and Cake

I was lying about the cake. Here are the links;

Wow, that was a lot. See you next week.

Myleene Klass and Jonathan Shalit are full of shit.

Myleene Klass hiding from Photographers

I don’t normally do these sort of posts, but after reading this story; Myleene Klass ‘bemused at police knife warning’ I was full of rage.

According to her agent and publicist Jonathan Shalit (agent to some of Britains best stars, such as Makosi, Biggins and Dani Behr)

“She is not looking to be a vigilante, and has the utmost respect for the law, but when the police explained to her that even if you’re at home alone and you have an intruder, you are not allowed to protect yourself, she was bemused.”

So you can debate the wisdom of waving a knife at youths (children?) rather than telling them just to fuck off all you want, however what is interesting is the police seems to have a different version of events.

But a statement from Hertfordshire police said: “Officers spoke to reassure the home owner, talked through security and gave advice in relation to the importance of reporting suspicious activity immediately to allow officers to act appropriately.”

It added: “For clarification, at no point were any official warnings or words of advice given to the home owner in relation to the use of a knife or offensive weapon in their home.”

Mr Shalit could not immediately be reached for further comment.

I bet he couldn’t, not surprising given the history of dubious Myleene related stories in the press; e.g. having a go at NHS maternity care, oh noes I’m stuck to hospital bed (might be true, but it’s just stupid) and the story she told the Sun about a meeting between Derren Brown and Derek Acorah, despite it not being true, read Derren Brown’s Tricks of the Mind for the full story.

However Google news now has 200+ reports of this story where Myleene’s word is taken as fact giving us more Britain’s gone ’elf and safety mad tabloid nonsense while giving Myleene lots and lots of free publicity.

Twats.

EDIT: 22:01 11/01/2009

Oh what a bizarre co-inky-dink it seems Myleene is also currently promoting her new ITV1 series Popstar To Operastar.

Music Monday – Death Wish 3 Kutikula Remix with Lasers

I found this video when searching for game videos for this thread. It’s a remix of Ben Daglish’s Death Wish 3 C64 game soundtrack along with a video of the Death Wish 3 trailer with added lasers. This is awesome on so many levels.

More of those pesky Links

Blah blah, here are those links;

More links next time.

Web Comics – lilformers

This weeks recommended webcomic Lil Formers is fun comic created by Matt Moylan. It started out as a weekly cute comic take on the world of Transformers, however as of strip 100, it now covers other pop culture properties including other 80′s cartoons too.

Looking back on 2009

Like I did this time last year, I have been looking back over the last twelve months of my life to see what has changed.

It’s been a very dull year, and so disappointingly I’ve come to conclusion that did last year, what was that very little has changed and I have not made any significant progress in a many areas of my life.  For this to happen two years in a row is a very very bad thing.

All these things must change in 2010!

The progress I made in 2008 with Fitness, was pretty much destroyed last year,  and thus I’ve gained quite a bit of weight and I am in much worse shape and fitness that I was a year ago.

The only highlights of this completely unremarkable year that I can remember include;

  • Starting 40 Things to do before I’m 40.
  • Starting to really use Twitter effectively and got in contact with some great people.
  • Visted Legoland (again).
  • Blogged more with Music Monday, Courage Wolf Wednesday, and Weekend Links post.
  • Got my voice on a podcast.
  • Both my sister and mother moving back home to Middlesbrough.
  • Going to a couple of weddings, included that of my good friend Anthony Putson.
  • Conor being on the Radio

Finally here is 2009 in somewhat random photos.

All these things must change in 2010!

Christmas 2009

I’ve not written a proper personal post in a while. I chose to blame twitter, like Pete says in his Twitter is Shit Post,  it certainly can seriously damage your blog output. Anyway, take the following post as my apologies.

Today was my first day back at both work and Karate after a nice two week Christmas Holiday. This was my first time I’d taken holidays over Christmas for four years. It was nice having two weeks off, and I’m thinking it would be good to do this again next years.

We had a nice Christmas, Conor’s big present this year was a Playstation 3 and several games, however like we did with his Wii a couple of years ago we left this present until last. He was over the moon with it and the games that came with it.

Little Big Planet is the game he has wanted since it came out, and is the main reason we got him the console. It pretty much is the perfect game for him, so much so it couldn’t have been created with him in mind, he just loves spending hours making up his own levels. Lego Rock Band is great fun, and I must say rocking out while playing Ghostbusters and Final Countdown on an plastic guitar (on the easy level) is an experience everyone that should partaken in at least. EyePet is one of those virtual pets things, but thanks to the PS EyeCam it looks like it’s in your room next to you, a find it very annoying but he likes it.

Now if you are worrying about the poor old Wii, don’t as it isn’t getting Neglected as he also got the New Super Mario Brother Wii, which he has been playing with his mother. I’ve avoid playing it with them so far, as I don’t think the neighbours should have to listen to three people arguing over who should have got that mushroom.

Speaking of the Wii, I got the new Wii Fit Plus and some other Wii Fit related items, including Yoga mat, wrist bands and a pedometer. This will help in the new year, as a soon to be finished blog post will reveal.

Anyway, I’ve got a few pictures of some of the presents I was lucky enough to recieve (and probably not deserve) this year. This little fella was a present that will help keep my desk and PC clean.

I also got the following books from my Amazon wish list.

and these books as they were on sale in WHSmiths.

I’ve lost my thread a bit, however this post is now large enough to post, so it will have to do. In summary Christmas Holidays are good.

Music Monday Sanxion

Another year, another Monday, so I thought I would restart the Music Monday videos. Here is the Sanxion loading tune by Rob Hubbard.

ObscureInternet Secret Santa 2009

The Holiday season saw the third annual Secret Santa and again this year I was greeted with a great and obscure selection.

The first gift was a bounty mini. No picture of this is available, as it has been eaten by my wife as I’m not to keen on coconut. Next was a dodgy copy of Sega Rally for the X-Box 360 (This one was a little odd, as people on the forum know, I had an unchipped X-Box for about a month before I sold it).

Then some 3-D glass  for Toy Story Mania,

a nature activites book,

and finally a copy of Stuff Magazine. I had not read this before, but found it to be full of interesting stuff, like the fact that my little old Nokia E71 was voted third best smartphone of the year.

I also recently received these, not as part of secret Santa, but as a gift from a friend who has recently return from the far east. I thought I would share.

I do hope we have another Secret Santa in 2010 as I do enjoy send and receiving these, and if you haven’t before have a look at the previous Secret Santa’s for 2007 and 2008.
