Music Monday – The Commodores – Machine Gun
By Glen McNamee | November 23, 2009
Something a little different this week. It’s The Commodores’ Machine Gun from the album of the same name. I think this is the ultimate funky instrumental. It is a track you hear all the time on Film and TV, but never really get a chance to appreciate how brilliant the track is, just listen to the drums and that bass they are both perfect. Finally it is also technically fantastic, it sounds like it could have been written yesterday with the latest studio equipment, but the sound is so uniquely Seventies.
Just enjoy it.

Heh, I discovered this track a few weeks a few weeks ago, absolutely cracking tune. I was surprised it was by the Commodores though.

You didn’t discovered it via the late night zoo on TFM by any chance?
