Silicon Heaven by Allister Brimble
A bit of old news this but, you might not of heard it. Amiga maestro Allister Brimble has released a new track entitled Silicon Heaven. and it is available for download on Amazon, iTunes and other sites for a measly £0.79. It is a great track, so I highly recommended you check out.
In another bit of related good news, Allister is currently working on a follow up to his to Sounds Digital album.
Sounds Digital is a brillant album, which I’ve still got on CD somewhere. It has loads of very enjoyable tracks like Full Studio versions of the music from Team 17 games Project X, Assassin and Full Contact.
40 Things Update – Books, Charity and Lard.
A little update on three of my 40 things to do before I’m 40.
- Raise 1000 pounds for charity - (00.5% Complete)
- Read all of the BBC Top 100 reads - (10% Complete)
- Have 15% or less body fat - (0% Complete)
I’m now not able to do the charity Abseil in December, but you can sponsor Noscene instead. I shall be doing something in the early new year.
Finish reading His Dark Materials by Philip Pullman, really excellent books (there are three of them, which is kind of cheat as they only count as one of the 100 top reads) best thing I’ve read in a long while. I’m now reading John Steinbeck’s Of Mice and Men.
Ten percent was a really over optimistic goal (unless I want to become an Olympic athlete) so I’ve changed this goal to the more realistic but still overly demanding fifteen percent. The Body Fat Monitor has a new battery and it estimates I’m at 26.1% so I’ve decided to measure the percentage complete updates as 25% being 0% to 15% being 100% complete.
I’m now 2.19% complete with 2082 days to go.
Music Monday – The Commodores – Machine Gun
Something a little different this week. It’s The Commodores’ Machine Gun from the album of the same name. I think this is the ultimate funky instrumental. It is a track you hear all the time on Film and TV, but never really get a chance to appreciate how brilliant the track is, just listen to the drums and that bass they are both perfect. Finally it is also technically fantastic, it sounds like it could have been written yesterday with the latest studio equipment, but the sound is so uniquely Seventies.
Just enjoy it.
