My unofficial Wii Fit Experiment
Posted on Jul 5, 2008 in Fitness, Life
Inspired by the Official Wii Fit Experiment I’ve been continuing to do my Wii Fit training every day (except for the two days I was away). This week for the first time, since I started training, I’ve managed to lose weight. Yes, I’ve managed to lose two pounds this week, which moves me out of overweight and into ideal (just).
I did over an hours training on Friday to celebrate. So, although I am sore today, I am gonna keep it up.

Turns out I’ve put the weight back on today. I knew I shouldn’t have had that pizza last night. I blame the wife, she ordered it while I was out.
Hey congrats on losing weight with Wii Fit!
My wife has been about even (doh!) since starting in May. She seems pretty frustrated with it as a result. I tell her its probably because she is still nursing. That, and she doesn’t get a ton of time to exercise with a 10 month old trying to get into everything.
I on the other hand have had fantastic results. Some added exercise and revised diet (cut out soda, using small plates instead of large, no seconds) and I’ve lost 16.4lbs in 46 days. Keep at it!
Thanks for the comment and the encouragement, Preston.
I agreed it must be very hard to lose weight while looking after a baby. She shouldn’t give herself a hard time.
So! Does this mean I should invest in a Wii Fit? You see, the other day I woke up, looked in the mirror and screamed in horror … turns out someone had injected the fat, aka Adipose, in me and I was huge, like a buffalo. So am thinking, as an alternative to the gym and also as a way to annoy the noisy neighbours downstairs, should I get one of these? Or should I just jump up and down on the spot and annoy them anyway??
If you want to annoy the neighbours I would get a Wii Fit, but if you where serious about wanting to lose weight I would head to the Gym.
Don’t get me wring, I think Wii Fit is great fun and better for you then sitting down at the computer or console, but it can’t replace proper exercise.
the wii fit works quite well!
seems those serious in trying to loose weight have lost 2lbs/week on average, doing 30-45 minutes of wii fit/day
