The Ultimates

It’s been a quiet week, I spent one enjoyable evening last night with a few bottle of beer while reading ‘The Ultimates’ and I must say what a great comic it is, the best I’ve read. I couldn’t put it down, it has some genuine laugh out loud moments with ‘The hulk’ who seems to be a lot nastier than is normal counterpart, eating people and having a sexual appetite. The only problem I had with it’s the weak arsed post-Iraq war anti-French sentiment. We are suppose to believe that a man who fought side by side with the French resistance during the second world war would be making jokes because of France’s reservations, which have been completely justice, about invading Iraq?

I’ve been keeping up the daily Wii Fit session, but I’m still taking a break at the weekend. Wednesday I did about 40 minutes of mostly Yoga and Muscle workouts. Thursday I did all the yoga and thirteen of the Muscle workouts (I’m not ready for the challenges yet) and on Friday I did 30 minutes of Aerobic workout. Haven’t lost any weight yet mind.

Finally I’m on holiday again next week, I am not sure why I’m on holiday, you’ll have to ask the wife.

The I bought a Wii Fit update

You know how I mentioned in the last update that I was feeling good about a few trips I had made to the gym, well in the forum I’d also been mulling over a buying a Wii Fit to help me get in shape. So a couple of weeks ago, a bit the bullet and ordered one from the Internet, (as none where available in stores), and I am happy I did, because it’s great.

I think the best thing about it is ability to track your weight and BMI on a daily basis, which is something I’ve been waiting to be able to do for a while. I’ve been going on it every day (except the weekend) since we got it. I’m finding the Yoga and Muscle exercises are very difficult, I even got a zero score on the yoga breathing exercise.

I’m using for 20-45 minutes a day at the moment. I started with the balance games a first to improve my balance, the football heading game is great fun, then the Aerobic before giving the Yoga and Muscle workouts a proper go.

Speaking of the Aerobic workouts, I have a guilty secret. I really enjoy the step exercises, I have been playing the basic and advanced mode every day. I’ve also being doing the Hula Hoop exercise daily today, this is one I find very difficult but I persevere because I think my hips need the workout.

The only thing I haven’t really tried more than once is the jogging as I think jogging on the spot is a waste of time and incredible stupid looking.

Since starting, my weight has moved a great deal, it’s been moving up and down (mostly up) by a maximum of 2 pounds.

I’ll shall keep you updated on my progress.

The long awaiting catch up update XII

Well it’s been a busy couple of weeks, with a number of work trips and a weekend break away. Once I get the new blog up and running, it will blogging on the fly a little easier, so I can provide smaller update more often rather than doing big updates less often, as I find the longer I leave the blog with out an update the harder it is to update at all.

Anyway, enough of that nonsense. As I previously mentioned I been working away for the last weeks, and during that time I managed to drag myself to the Hotel Gym on no less than four occasions and I was felt really good afterwards. So I think I’ll should be heading off to the gym at home shortly.

The weekend break was a trip to Ireland to surprise mother with a Birthday party for her 60th Birthday. It was nice seeing the family all in one place, it doesn’t happen often enough (we need more weddings). We got mother her birthday present of a Nintendo DS with Brain Training (and the word thing) it was on offer from GAME in Omagh.

The recent Weather had been very nice, which had improved my mood no end. I’ve always suspected I suffer from Season affective disorder, as I’m in miserable bugger during the winter months.  I’ve even managed to cut the grass in the garden for the first time this year, which was urgently need as it was beginning to look like a jungle.
