The case of the missing blog post

I entered the following blog post earlier this week, but it seems to have gone missing from a reason that is unknown to me at this point in time. Anyway here it is in all it’s glory, enjoy;

Work on ObscureInternet has been going great, as I’ve worked out a system. Test the site with the notepad and pencil, wrote down what need doing to get the site online, copied these tasks into a new task list in Rememberthemilk and then got on with doing them. Peroidically updating twitter (and therefore my facebook status) with how I am progressing. This system has work a treat for me, and therefore I may use the system for other project.

I’ve got a lot of tasks completed, and we are close to getting the site ready for launch.

Oh, and don’t tell anyone but I’ve installed a audioscrobbler plugin on my work laptop, so I can my stats on Last.fm (link to my profile) upto date and correct.

Quick update on the sun, webdesign, podcasts and window wipers.

You have probably noticed that over the last week or so that I have been blogging more. I think it is because of the change in the weather. My procrastination seems to decrease when the Sun makes an appearance, I hate the dark winters.

I'm still working on the new design for the blog, but I thought I'd better finish the new version of ObscureInternet that I have been working on for ages (I hate to think how long it is) first.

I was listen to some of the HansIsland Podcasts earlier this week, and I realised that it's been over a year since the last one, which is a great shame. I hope it's not gone forever, mainly because I was in the last one and I would hate to think I killed it. I've also been looking into possible starting an monthly ObscureInternet podcast, I think it would be a lot of fun If I can get it arranged.

You remember the car I purchased last year, well I've just discovered by car does have a rear screen window wiper. I genuinely believed it did not have one, despite it being clearly viewable on the back of the car. How embarrassing.

Failboat, Resolution, Remixes and Healthy pop

You may of heard in the news about the ferry running aground off Blackpool well as you may know I sometime work away in the area, so on Friday Bill, Chris and I decided to pop over and have a look at the boat at lunch time. The tide was in, so it does look quite as much of a fail boat as I’d hoped. You can see more pictures in Bill’s Facebook profile.

FailBoat

I said In a recent blog post I said need to get around to doing my New years resolutions post. Well lets just cut to the chase, I’ve set lots of goals which I’m probably going to go no where near hitting, but hey, it doesn’t hurt to try, does it?

In Blog news, I’m working on a completely new design for the site, I’ve fixed the links to Comments (in case you had not noticed all the links where broken) and I’m working on a new and hopefully interesting new feature.

This weeks C64 music releated news is the are C64 Orchestra are looking for people to tell them which Rob Hubbard and Jeroen Tel track to play next, and the date for the Remixer of the year show on SLAY Radio has been confirmed as Sunday 17th, 20:00 CET and it will be presented by Slitz and Kenz.

Readers of Scrib’s blog will notice his joy at the return on Cheery coke, which I celebrated during this weekend foods shopping by buying a Diet Cherry Coke. I also notice these Coke bottles as well;

Healthy pop?

Healthy coke, I mean, who are they trying to kid?

Finally, just to a quick not to say the member of the ObscureInternet forum are continuing to reproduce, this time we send our congratulations to Noscere.

The C64Glen Show Outtakes #1

Yes, I'm still working on the c64glen show episode #5, but here is the outtakes from the first two episodes. I thought I had lost the original source material but I found it sitting on my hard drive (in the Video folder strangely enough)

A few Cloverfield thoughts

Me and Chovi caught Cloverfield on Friday and I thought I would share some thoughts on it (mild spoilers ahead), I’d been looking forward to seeing the trailer last July. In fact you can track my interest from the thread in the forum.

First note is if you don’t shaky cam TV or films (e.g. Battlestar Galatica, Bourne Supermacy, etc), then is is not the film for you epically if the person you are seeing it with has poor vision and insists on sitting near the front.

I really enjoyed the film, as it is a such a great concept a Monster movie without the cliches, presidents, scientists or cute children. It’s a Godzilla movie from the perspective of the people in street who are running away screaming before the plastic tanks turn up. Please note I love Japanese Godzilla movies, ‘Destroy all monsters’ is a particular favourite.

Anyway as I stated the it’s the little people who are the focus of this movie, and what great about them is that they are well developed and behave in a realistic manor. I hate how in a lot of movies, people barely escape death or see a horrendous site just movie on the next scene with no real signs ofpsychological reaction to these events. In Cloverfield it’s not like that for example, after seeing the monster a rather shell shocked Marlena whispers an unbelieving ‘It’s eating people’ and stays in her shell for most of the film until coaxed out of it be the hapless Hud, who in my humble opinion is the star of this film, despite being behind the camera for most of it.

I even liked the romance between the pretty boy and pretty girl films leads as it was mostly done via a back story which is wonderfully shown as flash backs in the most ingenuous way.

Of course the film wasn’t perfect, after several months of speculation the monster it self was rather disappointingly non iconic, so much so I wonder if it could have done with a little less screen time. Also speaking of the monster, do you think it shared the same route map as the protagonists? They seem to bump into each other a lot, unless Manhattan is a lot smaller than I originally thought. Other gripes include the deaths of Marlena (she just explodes?) and Hud (who is not eaten?) and finally the short running time it’s 85 minutes long and twenty of those minutes seem to be the end credits.

However all in all I thought the film was excellent, it left me wanting more and now, of course their is now talk of a sequel.
