Update coming soon.

Problems almost over, watch this while you wait…..

Well Hello Turkeys

My big news this weeks is the old Desktop PC has given up the ghost and since the majority of the parts are almost two years old it give me the excuse to upgrade (even If I can't afford it)

I ordered some bits from Overclockers.co.uk on Friday and they arrived first thing Saturday morning, so I quickly started to build my new super PC, however building quickly stopped when I discovered that an AM2 processor had been sent instead of the 939 pin that would fit in the motherboard. Curses! Fortunately Overclockers have a sensible RMA process, a new processor has been ordered and should be arriving on Tuesday and the AM2 will be winging it's way back to Stoke soon after.

The last two weeks in has seen some strange going on in the North East the most notable of these are bumping into Chris Morland (how bizarrely random) in Lytham and a return to the Syndicate in Blackpool which is looking even better than it did last time I was there (a number of years ago) and possible the funniest thing was seeing a certain person's pants fall down in a night club in Lytham, I am still laughing now.

The hot weather is continuing with no end in sight, this is great during the day but a proper pain in the arse at night as it make sleeping almost impossible.

The family and I am on Holiday now for the next two weeks, We've got to plans to head out anywhere special as yet, but I imagine we will have a few day trips and maybe a couple of days at the theme park. If I get the chance, a working PC and some inspiration I may even do some website work.

I promise you another update when I get the PC up and running.

I’d better update, I have guests

I don’t think I’ve gone this long without updating the blog in a long while! Oh well, I’ve had much more important things to do. Don’t ask me what they were because I can’t remember, but I can assure you it had nothing to do with the Japanese Mafia. I’ve been spending time updating various websites which to be honest has got me frustrated, I could really do with recruiting some writing staff for ObscureInternet.

One thing that’s has been happening has the computer has been playing up, methinks it may be time to upgrade, but where will I get the money to buy the best bits my computer obviously requires. Other thinks to play up since we last spoke include; The car (nothing new there), The Iron (which has no been replaced and is now a ‘back-up iron’! WTF is ‘backup Iron’? Only a women could have said it), and the Washing Machine (just out of warranty and just about working)

The highlight of last weekend was the Mela at Middlesbrough, and as sure as it always rains at Middlesbrough Music Live, it is always sunny at the Mela. Just the weather you need when you want to taste all those hot Asian dishes(!), the full family was out, however Conor was more interested in the inflatable assault course than the RAF Harrier Jump Jet that was there. The lowlight of last weekend was doing the gardening.

While I talking about Conor, did I tell you that I got a Max Media Launcher cartridge for his DS? He having great fun playing Princess Peach, New Super Mario Bro and Big Brain Academy (all totally legally of course m’lud). So far I’m graded C in big brain academy, although the wife has got to C+ while I’ve been away with work (cheat).

So as you are probably aware this week has been the hottest week record in the universe ever. England was hotter than a number of places, including the sun.

Would you be kind enough to beta the chat room?

The new ObscureInternet chat system will be available for testing over the weekend, please leave your thoughts, problems and comments below….

An update?

I had a great day with Conor in Albert Park a few Saturdays back, it was Pirate Day, we saw (and participated in) a magic show, did a treasure hunt (won a Frisbee), saw some hawks and owls, bumped into Deborah and Spencer and got a little sun burnt but I think the highlight of the day is when I was put in the stocks and Conor threw wet sponges at me, I got soaked. Me and the family also popped into town the next day to see Middlesbrough music live.

I still haven't been able to get to the gym regular because of my job, but I did get in once last week, and I hope to go tomorrow as well. I'm also going to cut down on the drinking as it is making me very fat, unfortunately when I'm working away I’ve got the choice of going out for a meal and a drink or staying in and watching six year old episodes of Judge Judy.

The comments system has been updated and to answer Scrib's question about it, it does some simple validation on what you enter (email address and main text), but it does not ban any words such as spunk (I'm not that much of hypocrite) but it will not allow comments with any words assoicated with spam (e.g. Vigara).

I'm working on an ObscureInternet news feature which will be a news system for all the ObscureInternet sites and will be customizable to work on each site and as an RSS feed, it should be good if I ever finish it. I'm also working on IRC chat feature for the main page, and a Rich Text editor for the backend updating.

I need a title here

We’ve all being enjoying the weather this past week, it’s been very hot all over England, which is good job because I was in various parts of it last week. Cheadle and Didsbury were particular highlights.

One thing I meant to tell you in the last post is that I (finally) watched Godzilla Final Wars it’s an odd mix of Godzilla, Destroy all monsters, The Matrix and Independence day, and unlike The Last Samurai this is a Japanese film featuring an American bad-ass with a samurai sword. Therefore it is most highly recommended by myself.

Of course the greatest thing to happen this week is the start of the World Cup, seven matches so far and I haven’t missed one!

Finally I’ve been fiddling with the comments system to make it more Knobhead proof, so if you have any problems drop me an email.

Fighting the good fight

Alright,

As you will have noticed I’ve been losing the fight against bloggers block. I do have a lot to day, I just have a problem typing/say them.

What I wanted to tell you last month is that I’ve managed to find some time to update ObscureInternet, It’s updated for the month of many with around fifteen stories. I’ve also started to advertise the site, so I’m now looking for some more articles, users and writers. I didn’t get around to searching for the articles, users and writers but May was the most popular month for ObscureInternet in the last year. I also wanted to tell you I’ve also managed to convert the entire family into using Gmail, but I guess those moments are gone.

I’ve been having a look thought the blog and it’s about this time of year I post about going on Holiday (for the Wedding anniversary) and Passing Exams.

So why should this year be any different Me and wife visited Dublin, our third European capital for our third anniversary. I made sure we visited Dublin’s number one tourist attraction the Guinness Storehouse. The Exam news is I final took and passed my ITIL Exam, although I was not confident and under prepared (I had a wealth of Training Material which I hadn’t studies as much I should) I did get quiet a good mark.

I had more stuff to write about such as the Explosion on Teesside, doing the gardening, working away and the World Cup but I can’t remember any of it.

One thing I do remember is that Conor got pupil of the week again, fifth time in the last two years.

Away!

I'm currently sitting in Teesside Airport waiting for a flight to Dublin, I'll give you a nice long update when I get back.
